About

Who We Are

Hargeisa Gallery is a creative and cultural hub based in the heart of Somaliland.
We exist to celebrate Somali art, empower artists, and preserve our rich cultural heritage through exhibitions, training, and community engagement.

More than a gallery, we are a social enterprise supporting local artists — especially women, mothers, and marginalized creatives — by giving them a platform to showcase their talent and build sustainable livelihoods.

Every piece displayed here carries a story of resilience, beauty, and cultural pride.

Our Mission

To cultivate and celebrate Somali creativity by providing inclusive opportunities for artists — especially women and underrepresented groups — to thrive, connect, and gain financial independence through art and culture.

muna

Art has always been our quiet resistance — a way to remember who we are, to heal, and to hope. When I founded Hargeisa Gallery, I wanted more than a physical space; I wanted a home for creativity, culture, and connection. In Somaliland, art is often seen as a luxury — but to me, it’s a lifeline. It tells our stories, carries our heritage, and opens doors for women and young people who deserve to be seen and heard. Hargeisa Gallery is a place where artists can dream and grow, where women can learn and earn, and where our culture lives on in color, texture, and sound. Welcome to Hargeisa Gallery — where art empowers, culture thrives, and stories live forever.”
